Touch healing is far from new. It has been practiced for centuries by many different cultures all over the world. It can be extremely sophisticated or as simple as a mother’s touch. Massage may be one of the most widely known and practiced procedures utilizing human touch. There are several distinct methods of healing touch. EFT uses a tapping technique on specific acupuncture points. This method is very effective on unwanted behaviors and emotional issues. EFT can heal the effects of negative memories and disapate anxiety and panic attacks immediately. Jin Shin Jyutsu is used on energy points. While touching two points simultaneously, the practitioner balances the chakras and releases blockages. Reiki, on the other hand, simply sends or transfers energy from the practitioner to the recipient. Reiki, developed in Japan, is a method of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. A Reiki treatment is a way of increasing your life energy. A practitioner will transmit Reiki to the client through the hands. A treatment will usually release negative feelings or thoughts leaving the client feeling more positive, lighthearted and with feelings of well being. This can all be done while fully clothed and in less than one hour. ASA (alpha state affirmations) uses the lower frequency of the alpha state to increase ones ability to release and/or change negative thought patterns. The alpha state is sometimes referred to as the dream state, a very restful and restorative place to be.
